AASPN Educational Course

Course Outline

The AASPN EDUCATIONAL COURSE is designed for trainees and neurosurgeons who seek to increase their understanding of paediatric neurosurgery.  It covers the full curriculum of paediatric neurosurgery over a 3-year period, integrated with practical lessons on leadership, professional development, research, and personal growth.

CORE 1 and CORE 2  are  4-day  face-to-face courses  consisting of didactic lectures and case-based discussion.  During these sessions, the attendee is given the opportunity to discuss in depth the foundations of paediatric neurosurgery with world leaders in the field. The course encourages interaction between participants, fostering friendships across colleagues in our region. Course fees are inclusive of content, accommodation, and meals.

ADVANCED  is a one-day pre-congress course preceding the biannual AASPN congress.  It comprises a series of debates and mentoring sessions  designed to give the course attendees the opportunity to  challenge their knowledge and revisit their practice of paediatric neurosurgery.

Participants who successfully complete CORE 1 and CORE 2 courses and at least 1 ADVANCED course are awarded the AASPN Education certificate.
